No shortcuts here- it still takes hard work
Graduate school is in your future. You’ve decided on the path your life will follow, and you’re sticking to it. But before you can complete your application, chances are you will need to take the Graduate Record Exam. There’s nothing to sweat about here, as it will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate your knowledge in the field you wish to pursue. You know this material – but, to get a leg up on the other candidates for your program slot, it’s important to distinguish yourself with a high score. In order to do this, you must prepare – and that preparation will take you into the world of GRE test prep.
GRE Test Prep
There are several solutions out there for GRE test prep, so take your time and locate the program that works for you. Chances are you’re working full time and have odd hours that you can study. In this case, it’s a good idea to seek test prep help from an online course of study that can adjust to your working schedule. Perhaps you are a stay at home Mom or Dad, and your time is limited during the day. No matter when you have available time, it’s important to keep to a schedule and work steadily – limit interruptions around you by turning off the phone and internet, and stay focused on the task at hand. You may also want to set goals for yourself, and once met, reward yourself with a small favor such as a snack or some form of entertainment.
Study Partner GRE
Another great tip is to find someone else who might be attempting the GRE at the same time as you. By collaborating with a study partner, GRE prep can be a motivating factor in bettering your life. It is not necessary to meet together face to face every day, or even at all, just as long as there is communication between you both. Someone going through the same process can be there to help work out problems encountered in the study, and commiserate or celebrate along with you. You may also wish to expand your sphere into a GRE study group, where multiple students are able to work together.
GRE Study Plan
Before starting any prep work, come up with a GRE study plan. This will lay out your goals and any benchmarks you wish to achieve by the end of your studies. Once started, stay on track. Keep your deadlines and be sure to communicate with your study partner regularly. Visualize your goals, and before you know it, you’ll be submitting an admission packet that will put other candidates to shame.
